The location for hosting the inaugural edition of Sharara Art, Science & Technology Mediterranean Festival (known by the two alternative names of "Sharara" and ShararaTech") in 1-3 October 2016 and 1-3 April 2017 is the Neck-of-The Camel desert which includes an iconic Star Wars site ~ 23 km away from Tozeur airport in the Tunisian Sahara. The permit to the site has been granted by the Tunisian government.
